Usual Checklist for Paint Preparation

  • Clear room of furnishing, decorations & outlet covers

  • Move all things that cannot be removed to center of room. Cover in plastic

  • Edge rooms with paper

  • Wash walls

  • Remove stains

  • Spackle dents, nail holes & cracks

  • Dull glossy areas (priming)

  • Remove loose paint

  • Tape off adjacent walls, woodwork & light switches
